What is THON?
THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. THON is a year-long effort in which Penn State students share their passion for helping others by fundraising money for pediatric cancer. The sole beneficiary of The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon is the Four Diamonds Fund.
The Penn State IFC/ Panhellenic Dance Marathon takes place one weekend in mid- February. Over 700 dancers participate in the weekend-long Dance Marathon and commit to standing for 46 hours straight without sleep.
Due to COVID-19 THON Weekend was not held in person last year. Ayuda instead made our own AirbnBJC to host THON 2021 safely. Cancer does not stop, so neither do we! THON 2022 was the first THON back in the Bryce Jordan Center since COVID-19.

Ayuda is a Special Interest Organization (SIO), meaning we exist for the sole purpose of fundraising for THON. All year leading up to THON weekend, we host and attend various events and fundraisers to benefit THON. We are paired with the Gora Family through the Adopt-a-Family program, and frequently spend time with them at THON events and throughout the year. Many of our members are actively involved in other aspects of THON as captains and committee members, but all find a home with their Ayuda family!
